# Collect Footprints data for your Pipeline

### Collect Footprints data for your Pipeline <a href="#toc201668103" id="toc201668103"></a>

If you have connected a supported test tool to SeaLights like Tosca, you can configure the Agent to collect details for test executions in that tool. When you run a test, the Agent matches the ABAP components that you executed against objects in the latest Build Modification. It then sends this data to SeaLights as a Footprint.

## `slabapcli footprints run`

Configures the agent to collect Footprints data for a pipeline.

{% tab title="Command Prompt" %}
{% code title="Syntax" overflow="wrap" %}

```batch
slabapcli.exe footprints run --pipeline <pipeline-name>
```

{% endcode %}
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="PowerShell" %}
{% code title="Syntax" overflow="wrap" %}

```powershell
.\slabapcli.exe footprints run --pipeline <pipeline-name>
```

{% endcode %}
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

| Parameter          | Required | Description                                      |
| ------------------ | -------- | ------------------------------------------------ |
| `-p`, `--pipeline` | Yes      | The pipeline name (as shown in `pipeline list`). |

### Example

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Command Prompt" %}
{% code title="Command" overflow="wrap" %}

```batch
slabapcli.exe footprints run --pipeline "ALM_Demo-S21"
```

{% endcode %}
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="PowerShell" %}
{% code title="Command" overflow="wrap" %}

```powershell
.\slabapcli.exe footprints run --pipeline 'ALM_Demo-S21'
```

{% endcode %}
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

{% code title="Expected output (PowerShell)" overflow="wrap" lineNumbers="true" %}

```log
.\slabapcli.exe footprints run --pipeline 'ALM_Demo-S21'
[2025-06-18 15:07:58.336+01:00] [info] Detected Windows version: Windows 11
[2025-06-18 15:07:58.337+01:00] [info] Config pathname: C:\ProgramData\Tricentis\SeaLights\ABAP Agent\config\config.toml
[2025-06-18 15:07:58.341+01:00] [info] resource = footprints. command = run
[2025-06-18 15:07:58.341+01:00] [info] pipeline: ALM_Demo-S21
[2025-06-18 15:07:58.370+01:00] [info] Run scheduled daily. interval = 00:05:00.
```

{% endcode %}

This command creates a `FOOTPRINTS` scheduled task that collects Footprints data and sends it to SeaLights. In Windows Task Scheduler, the task is named `FOOTPRINTS_<pipeline>` and is created in the `\SeaLights` folder; it runs under the NETWORK SERVICE account. If a task for the pipeline already exists, the command replaces it.

The task starts a long-running collector that checks the test repository for new test executions every `testexecutionqueryingfreq` seconds (default `5`, set in the `[footprints]` section of `config.toml`). The five-minute schedule only restarts the collector if it has stopped; while it is running, the extra launches are ignored.

### Filtering Footprints Data

You can exclude specific SCMON context objects from footprints collection using the `typequeries` field in the `[footprints]` section of `config.toml`. This is useful for filtering out standard SAP programs, transactions, or function modules that are not relevant to your testing.

See [Configuration settings — Footprints type queries](broken://pages/DZM4uWEu5r51kMDWCmDB#footprints-type-queries) for syntax and examples.

{% hint style="success" %}
When you stop or replace a footprints task, the agent disables the task, asks Windows Task Scheduler to stop any running instance, and waits up to 10 seconds for the watcher to exit before removing the task. If the watcher has not exited by then, the command prints a warning that a watcher may still be running.
{% endhint %}

## Stop collecting Footprints data for a Pipeline <a href="#toc201668104" id="toc201668104"></a>

## `slabapcli footprints stop`

Stops the scheduled `FOOTPRINTS` task for a pipeline and removes it from Windows Task Scheduler (`\SeaLights\FOOTPRINTS_<pipeline>`). The command reports success even if no task was scheduled for the pipeline.

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Command Prompt" %}
{% code title="Syntax" overflow="wrap" %}

```batch
slabapcli.exe footprints stop --pipeline <pipeline-name>
```

{% endcode %}
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="PowerShell" %}
{% code title="Syntax" overflow="wrap" %}

```powershell
.\slabapcli.exe footprints stop --pipeline <pipeline-name>
```

{% endcode %}
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}
