# Command-line interface

You configure the SeaLights ABAP Agent using a command-line interface program (`slabapcli.exe`) installed to the agent's `bin` directory. The pages below are organized in the order you'd typically use them, from initial setup through ongoing pipeline monitoring.

## Prerequisites

Before you set up the Agent, the first step is to test your machine's connection to SeaLights. See [Set up the agent — Prerequisite to Agent Setup](broken://pages/54pGpo5ULmlonbluKqHL#prerequisite-to-agent-setup) for the connectivity check commands.

## Run the command-line interface <a href="#toc201668086" id="toc201668086"></a>

To display the command-line interface's help file, open a terminal as an Administrator and change to the agent's `bin` directory (default: `C:\Program Files\Tricentis\SeaLights\ABAP Agent\bin`).

To display the help for a specific command group, run `slabapcli.exe <resource> --help` (or `-h`). The word `help` on its own is not a command: `slabapcli.exe settings help` fails with an error saying that a subcommand is required.

## Global options

These options are available on every command. You can place them before or after the command.

| --------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `-c`, `--config <path>`     | Path to the `config.toml` file to use. If you omit it, the agent uses `%ProgramData%\Tricentis\SeaLights\ABAP Agent\config\config.toml`. |
| `-l`, `--log_level <level>` | Verbosity of the messages the command prints, for example `debug` for more detail. Default: `info`.                                      |
| `--version`                 | Display the `slabapcli` version and exit.                                                                                                |
| `-h`, `--help`              | Display help for the command or command group and exit.                                                                                  |
